Content marketing is great for us to promote our stores or products. Using the right content marketing way means you can boost sales and earn a lot. However, apart from knowning which kind of content marketing we should use, you also need to know how to achive great results.

Here are some steps for you according to my own experience:

  • Determine your KPIs.
  • Choose your content channels.
  • Decide on the type of content.
  • Set a budget.
  • Create and distribute the content.
  • Analyze and measure results.

Content Marketing Strategies

Now, let's check them one by one.

1. Set Smart Goals

The first part of a content marketing strategy is setting SMART goals. These should be specific to your business - they may complement your broader marketing and company goals.

Here are some examples:

  • Improve brand loyalty
  • Improve brand awareness
  • Increase conversions
  • Boost revenue
  • Attract strategic partners
  • Increase customer engagement
  • Build rapport and trust among prospects and customers

2. KPIs

The next step is to determine your KPIs. Let's see how:

  • Brand Loyalty - Returning Customers, Promoters, Product Reviews, Testimonials
  • Brand awareness - Website traffic, social media followers, subscription signups, mentions (by customers and partners)
  • Conversions - Conversion Rates, Cart Abandonment Rates, Related Shipping Rate Trends, Competitive Price Trends
  • Revenues - Daily sales, website traffic
  • Partners - New Partnerships, Mentions, Backlinks
  • Customer engagement - Likes, Shares, Follows, Mentions, Backlinks
  • Trust - Repeat Visitors, Promoters, Followers, Mentions

3. Content channels

Once you've decided on the type of content you want to promote, it's time to choose your specific content channels. Where will you share your content? Where will it live and share?

For some content types, the channel you need to use will be obvious. For example, if you are creating Facebook content, your channel will be the social platform itself.

4. Content Types

Next, choose the type of content you want to create. To do this, first consider your target audience and buyer persona. Now you can review the various types of content we reviewed earlier to decide which type of content you will create.

5. Budget

Now, it's time to set your budget. Consider the type of content you create and on which channels you market it.  Then, ask yourself some queations like: Do you need to pay for ad space? Do you need to hire any content marketers or designers (eg artists, writers, editors, designers)?

Take note of how your responses affect your budget - whether it increases or decreases what you may have estimated.

6. Content Creation and Distribution

Create and distribute your content so members of your audience can use it—and possibly convert it. To make sure you're consistently producing content and sharing it among prospects and clients, use a social media calendar or an editorial content calendar.

This will help your team stay on top of all the content being created and allow you to schedule ahead.

7. Analysis and Measurement

Finally, analyze and measure your results so you can make any necessary changes to strengthen your content marketing efforts and reach more users.

Review your SMART goals and KPIs to determine the success of your content marketing strategy. Are you hitting your goals and KPIs? Are you getting close to them, or are your estimates wrong?

Conclusion

With effective content marketing, you can reach your target audience and increase conversions. There are several ways to market content to increase revenue, increase brand awareness and recognition, and build relationships with prospects and customers.

Don't forget to extract more value from every piece of content you create.

First, determine which type of content is best for your business and audience, and develop a content marketing strategy to improve your bottom line starting today.
